CITY WHISPERS |
Inspired by the homonymous work done by American photographer Ray Metzker between 1980 and 1983, whose title is a tribute to the great American master, this research was born from the desire to undermine the mechanism called "rite of habit", that process by which behavior becomes habitual, automatic and consequently more and more unconscious: it soothes our senses, our behavior and, in this case, the way we see. Also according to Marcel Proust human live with his being minimized, remaining most of our faculties asleep. Our eye is not exempt from this process, especially when we live daily those places so familiar to us. The light and shadows thus become the means by which to build a new and most intimate vision of my hometown, revealing and concealing those same places and the same players that animate them.
